What Is The Fall Semester Like?

If you are looking for a meaningful, relevant, and educational art experience for your student this fall, then look no further! During this 12-week fall semester, your student to be challenged by age-specific art prompts and student-focused projects developed to give you the flexibility, control, and the freedom you need. Each week, your students will be provided with one hour of responsive online activities, educational videos, demonstration videos, artistic prompts, and step-by-step instruction to assist them in their journey towards creating their own, unique masterpieces. The fall semester begins Sept. 1, 2019 and class content will remain available until June 19, 2020.

What Will My Student Learn?

This fall semester, first-grade students will learn a variety of techniques, vocabulary, skills, and facts. By the end of fall, your student will be able to find elements of art in artwork, recognize and explain the key characteristics of Piet Mondrian's most famous artworks, identify and create vertical and horizontal lines, identify similarities and differences in works of art with the same subject matter, identify primary colors, demonstrate printmaking and collage techniques, demonstrate cleanliness of self and materials while painting, differentiate between real and imaginary beings, identify simple shapes in complex images, demonstrate scissor safety, attach materials to 3D objects through knot tying, identify multiple reasons of creating artwork, and more.

  • What if I am unhappy with the curriculum?

  • How long is a typical art class?

    Our art classes are designed to provide approximately one hour of instruction and educational activities to grades K-8. If a particular class is predicted to vary in length from the normal one-hour class time, it will be clearly communicated through the project pdf.

  • How many art projects will my student complete?

    The number of projects your student is able to complete depends on the length of our semester and the grade level your student is enrolled in. Grades K-4 typically focus on projects that take 4 classes to develop. Grades 5-6 typically focus on projects that take 6 classes to create.

  • How much are art materials?

    The cost of art materials will vary depending on art materials owned prior to taking a Masterpiece Makers class. On average, art materials will cost $10 per project, but are often repeated or reused throughout/across multiple grade levels or projects.

  • Do I need to buy a workbook to go with my student’s art classes?

    No! When you register for a semester or year of art classes, all worksheets and activities are always included.

  • What if I need help?

    If you need help while going through your art classes, simply contact us at themasterpiecemakers@gmail.com and we will be sure to help you however we can! To get help from Mrs. Ramey throughout the semester, add “Time With Your Teacher” to your cart while checking out to get four 15-minute online or in-person sessions.
