What is the Fall Semester Like?

If you are looking for a meaningful, relevant, and educational art experience for your student this fall, then look no further! During this 12-week fall semester, your student to be challenged by age-specific art prompts and student-focused projects developed to give you the flexibility, control, and the freedom you need. Each week, your students will be provided with one hour of responsive online activities, educational videos, demonstration videos, artistic prompts, and step-by-step instruction to assist them in their journey towards creating their own, unique masterpieces. The fall semester begins Sept. 1, 2019 and class content will remain available until June 19, 2020.

What Will My Student Learn?

This fall semester, seventh-grade students will learn a variety of techniques, vocabulary, skills, and facts. By the end of fall, your students will be able to identify and create collages; identify key characteristics of polariod photographs; use meaningful and relevant imagery to document current life experiences and circumstances; demonstrate craftmanship through careful glue application, proper trimming techniques, and trimming of selected imagery; arrange and overlap images to effectively support conceptual theme; recall main characteristics of the first European castles; compare and contrast castles throughout history; explain the original purposes (functions) of castles; create a castle design based off of core form and function principles; demonstrate ability to design and create form through careful consideration of multiple surface planes; handle carving tools with responsibility and respect; apply accurate measuring skills during art creation; handle plaster with care; and more!
